About me…

Thanks for being here! I wanted to let you know about a few things that happened at the beginning of the pandemic that made me reflect on life and work.

I lost my Mum to Alzheimer’s, I lost 100% of my work, I realised I have ADHD, and I had another major burnout.

By this point, I’d had career highs and lows. I found many arts workplaces to be toxic for me and found certain parts of my freelance work to be repeatedly challenging.

I looked for opportunities beyond the arts, but during this process, I realised I might always come up against the same challenges because we live in a neurotypical world. I started to wonder how I might re-think how I exist in these spaces, and how I might work towards being part of the change I would love to see for me and my colleagues and communities.

In 2022 I began an MA in Arts Practice: Arts, Health & Well-being at The ATrium. This is my new website and the aim is to reflect the work I have been involved in more recently, as well as my aspirations for the next phase of my career.

I was diagnosed with anxiety at age 7 and at 44 I had the official ADHD diagnosis. My ADHD coach tells me I am a polymath – I had to Google it. It means I have a broad knowledge of my industry. I am learning more about my own brain and I’m on this journey to create meaningful inclusion in the arts - and have fun! Work should be joyful.

In April 2024 I will graduate and I’ll be looking for meaningful work with people who have a shared inclusive work approach. I will also be training to be an ADHD coach and wellbeing officer in 2024.
